Step Into The Unknown

Caldy rugby club are a very welcome throwback in this era of professional rugby clubs. They have achieved Championship status by maintaining an amateur ethos and Paton Field is an unglamorous but very serviceable rugby club - like so many in what the RFU now calls "the community game."

Blues head off there this week needing the win to cement their top four place, while Caldy will be delighted with their mi- table postion following their elevation. They've won five out of their 13 games, so far.

It won't be a step into the unknown as far as Caldy's team is concerned. Blues won the Goldinhgton Road game 52-29.

There's three changes to Mike Rayer's side. Sean French and Jamie Elliott return with George Hendy injured abd Tom Litchfield back at Saints. There's  also a debut for back row Kieran Curran.
