Lessons from Saturday?

So there has been a couple of days since we narrowly lost the Double Header again, I have calmed down, stopped throwing things at the TV, and have got over the immediate relief that the sole saracens supporter at work left in the summer. You might not want my thoughts, but you are going to get them.

I think we showed promise throughout the performance and don't look like relegation contenders.

Oh how we missed Christian Wade last season, and fingers crossed he can keep fit through the rest of the year.

Our defence needs more work, which isn't surprising.

Our ball carriers, if they can get on the front foot, can turn games.

We need to get quick ball out of rucks and mauls or else the impetus gets lost

We looked knackered for the last 10 minutes but I'm sure match fitness isn't far away - Dan Baugh comes with too high a pedigree to have messed it up

Mr Millar did not look as if he was ready to start

Mr Daly does need to think about the inside shoulder and passing, to bring a bit of variation to his game.  We have fast guys outside, don't swerve into their space

If we had not have given away a penaly on the Saracens 5 yard line in the 78th minute, we'd be celebrating a great win and Sorries fans would be tearing up their season tickets. But maybe that's why they finished top last year and we didn't.

I did indeed. I'm not a great fan of the double header.

I'm with you there Kev, club rugby should be played with the exceptions a final brings, up close and personal, HQ and Wembley etc. maybe marvellous earners but that's where it stops for me.
As for lessons learned, as Dai commented it been the same issue for the past 12 months we just don't play from the 1st to last whistle. You can't give any top level side a 10 - 20 point start like we've been doing. The only other comment would be that as much as I love watching Simmo play I so wish his pass off the base of rucks was as quick as his feet when he sees a gap.

What a difference a week makes! Kev leaves the country and Wasps play for 80 minutes! Is there a connection?
