The Morning After The Night Before

The journey ended at Goldington Road.  Should we have expected anything else? Recently Cov's win record there has been on a downward trend. And so it proved.  A decent first half became a distant memory as the hosts exploited our errors , an interception , a charge down, two tries in a minute and it was game over. There was no way back. The players gave their all but you have to give Bedford credit for some impressive defence.  Beford for the final and, on that form, could be successful.   So, what about Cov? 

In my opinion I consider Cov have had a very successful season, a third place finish, playoff semi-final and more to look forward to than regret.  The wholesale squad changes are surely now a thing of the past, 9 players leaving to pastures new, DOH and Allan Ferrie to the Gallagher Premiership,  desvervedly so, and others have sights on places at ambitious teams .    Expect news on this soon. 
We will also soon learn the names of the rumoured 8 or 9 incoming players , one of whom was at Goldington Road last night. 
Season ticket renewals are, I understand, going well.  And why wouldn't they? We are witnessing some of the most exciting rugby in many a year, thank to Alex Rae,  Gordon Ross, Steve Boden and the team.  It's high risk stuff, but, by crikey, it's exciting.  Long may it continue.

As a bit of a teaser, the Club are currently working on an exciting, innovative way forward.  The Academy continues to produce and is the Coventry Rugby future.
