NUNEATON booked their place in the second-round draw with a hard-earned victory over their Midlands One hosts. Longton led twice and at one stage threatened to pull off an upset, but Nuns kept enough in reserve to step up their game in the final quarter and ease their way through. Scrum-half Aaron Barker crossed twice in the first-half for Longton on either side of a try by Nuns winger Will

Cave - when the home side were down to 14 men - and a Rickie Aley conversion and penalty for 10-10 at half-time.

A penalty by skipper and centre Paul Green put Longton in front for the second time, but Nuns capitalised on a wayward pass for scrum-half Huw Thomas to score on the hour with Aley again converting before putting over his second penalty as the visitors closed out the game.
