Hawken has Lions roaring

RUGBY LIONS drew for the second successive game, unable to show their best recent form against an impressively quick and committed Henley side but still solid enough to avoid defeat. James Hawken’s penalty gave Rugby a fourth-minute lead, cancelled out by Danny Wells four minutes later. But Lions gradually started to exert some control and Karl Braband forced his way over for a try.
Hawken converted for a 10-3 Rugby lead after 26 minutes.
Henley then hit back with David Birtwhistle’s try in added time, converted by Wells to tie the scores.
Lions began the second half with a converted try by Stuart Riding but he was sin-binned soon afterwards.
A huge Henley attack was just kept out by fine Rugby defence but in the aftermath Henley’s Payne was sent off and Lions’ Price sin-binned.
Henley took the lead for the first time with Angelo Flammia’s converted try on 73 minutes but Hawken’s late penalty levelled the scores.
