Moseley appeal over RFU ruling of five matches

Moseley will appeal to the Rugby Football Union over being made to play five games in 15 days next month. The National One strugglers discovered yesterday that clubs in their division had voted overwhelmingly for a resolution that would see Ian Smith’s men forced to play midweek matches on consecutive weeks. Thirteen of the division’s 16 clubs accepted the proposed fixture list – with only

Otley and Moseley rejecting it – leaving Mose with the unenviable task of meeting Leeds, London Welsh, Bedford, Otley and Plymouth in little more than a fortnight.

As a result they have informed the sport’s governing body of their intention to challenge the resolution and expect to have their formal appeal lodged by the time they face Sedgley Tigers on Saturday.
