Nuneaton beat Bradford to keep up title push

ANY fears that Nuns might be ring-rusty after a two-week break were banished in precisely 47 seconds as prop Brook Davies bustled through to log their opening try. And although the Bees battled hard to restrict their hosts to a 25-10 interval lead, they were brushed aside in the second period as Nuns piled up four more unanswered tries to log the 10th consecutive victory in their impressive

drive towards the National Three North title.

Davies’s opening score was briefly eclipsed by a Ben Greaves solo effort converted by Steve Brinnacombe, but Gary Holmes crossed again for Nuns and, after the sides had swapped penalties, Rob Cook produced the highlight of the afternoon with a magnificent run to the posts.

Huw Thomas converted both tries and helped himself to half-a-dozen more points as Nuneaton added further touchdowns from Holmes, Cook, Simon Brocklehurst and Davies despite being hampered by sin-bin sessions for lock forwards Dan Hurst and Llyr Griffiths.
