Trip north as Coventry RFC start league one

RELEGATED Coventry will start life in National League One with a trip to Northumberland club Tynedale on September 4. The 30-match league campaign continues a week later when West Midlands rivals Stourbridge come to the Butts Park Arena with Cov confirming that they will revert to Saturday afternoon kick-offs next season.
Admission prices have been cut to £12 for adults and £8 for concessions (16-and-under free). Early bird season tickets cost £140, rising to £155 after June 30 (concessions £95, increasing to £105), and season ticket-buyers will receive a free guest ticket for the opening game.
Chairman Peter Rossborough told a fans’ forum that the club was continuing to regroup after a season which saw Cov come through adminstration only to finish bottom of the Championship relegation play-off pool.
“Nobody is happy, we would rather have the worry and expenditure of playing in the Championship, and we do want to get back there as soon as possible,” said Rossborough.
“Some of the pressures have been taken of us but we are still under some financial pressure and we are making lots of approaches to attract sponsorship into the club.
“The RFU only made the final decision about where we would be nine working days ago and it was impossible to make any firm plans until then, so it is still in the early days in terms of player recruitment. Our budget isn’t what we would like it to be and we are going into a competitive division but Phil Maynard and Dave Addleton are working very hard and should be able to make some announcements before long.”

I am sure Coventry Rugby Club will be back in the Championship A.S.A.P
We have a great set of fans, We also have a great set of Staff and players that were willing to play for nothing when things got tough!
I don't think many clubs have players that would do that!
I hope P.M and the other coaches will bring some new young talented players and older experienced players that will get us back into the championship.
Some of our players have already stated that they want to stay with the club and fair play to them for doing so.
Alot of mercenaries that other clubs bought to get them out the dire last season would have been off like a shot if they were in our predicament!
I have got my season ticket for next season and can't wait for the season to start!

The famous Coventry RFC going to away grounds will be the biggest draw of crowds apart from local derbies perhaps. Tough trips down long roads on horrible winter days, the forwards will be worked harder this coming season.
I'm sure we will be promoted and the phoenix will rise again.
As stated by Phoenix Rising, we will be the club to beat next season.
I hope we can sort out coach travel for the away games, I would like to visit some of these clubs.
