ANOTHER SAINT TO COVENTRY

Coventry Rugby are pleased to announce that Adam Parkins, a tight head prop has signed for Coventry on a dual registration basis from Northampton Saints.

Adam, born in Derby, has been with the Saints on a fulltime contract since last October.  He is aged 20, weighs in at 20st, and is 6ft 5in in height. Despite his size Adam is a very mobile front row forward.

Last season he appeared twice on the bench for Northampton, and at the beginning of this season was at Birmingham/Solihull also on dual registration. With little game time for him at Bees he has decided to join Coventry, where he meets up with his fellow Northampton prop Tom Warren.

Adam already knows a number of the Coventry squad, and he looks forward to gaining more game time to improve his game.

Adam made his 1st team debut for Coventry against Barking last week, coming on as a 2nd half replacement. He enjoyed his first outing and feels that the only real difference between the Championship and NL1 is the speed of the game.

Big front-row forming then.
Now where's the Tim Collier-type brute of a lock?

What the report ought to say is that like Tom Warren he has come from Northampton Academy and also both are former Derby juniors and played 1st team for Derby last year. Incidentally, Martin Kent is also a former Derby junior and has played many 1st team games for Derby.

All Coventry need to solve their 2nd row problem is another ex-Derby Northampton Academy player, Dan Sanderson, currently dual regged to B&S.

Seems a shame to me that we are signing young players who can be recalled at any time.

Lets sign our OWN players please, continuity is what we need.

in response to Localrugbyman my comments about Tom Warren and Martin Kent covered their spell at Derby.
I was also aware of the Derby and Academy connection of Adam, which did appear in my notes but for some reason I edited them out-no insult intended.
Just a point about dual registration- if a player is already DR with another club, that club has to agree to release the player, so he can by DR with another club.
