Great, extra rugby, I will definitely try to get to the game. However, I would not be happy if I was not a season ticket holder, paying £5 entrance fee. On top of a couple of bevvies and a Cov home Game the following saturday, it could be quite an expensive week for some. £2 tops entrance for all over 16's should be the going rate for these games, and people would be more inclined to go out on a cold evening and stay in the bar longer after. Times are hard for all, don't price people out of coming to rugby games please.

can't see many people coughing up a fiver. The gate money taken will be negligible. Might as well have made it free admission to get a better turnout and more money spent in the bar etc.

£5 is ridiculous, i assume that the peripheral players involved in this match will not be getting a match fee so why charge a national 2 entry fee?

Where are the extra players going to come from? Nuneaton and Rugby Lions are struggling to get out a 1st team let alone share anyone with any potential. Broadstreet, who do have the player base, must be feeling a little bit wary of contributing after releasing 6/7 players to Coventry in the summer, all of which were loaned out to local rivals Rugby Lions when they were surplus to requirements at Cov. There are no other teams in coventry with the talent to compete at national 1, so y bother including these players to fill positions. There are a number of Key positions which the 1st team are short of (2nd row being a prime example) so i can't see them risking anyone with a chance of playing on a saturday by including them in a nothing match.

1)Pateman 2)??? 3)Bates 4) Weaver 5) ??? 6) Mukarati 7) Harrop 8) Tibbats 9) ??? 10) Parry/Higgins 11) K Johnson 12) Clarke 13) Freemantle 14)Takarangi 15)Mountford

Mcgrory, challis, ???

I hope they start using Monday nights to give a much needed jump start for the Cov Colts, all local sides would be eager to support a representative cov colts team.

£5? What's that? A packet of fags or a couple of pints if you're lucky.
Cov folk aren't that tight are they?

Don't answer that....

It had been rumoured that the nighthawks was supposed to be a partnership between Cov & Rugby Lions. Doesn't look that way from the web site which strongly suggests that this is a Cov game.

Well the way I see it is that I havent been to a game in a fortnight... so its good to have two in a week, AND to see some of the players that havent had a run out yet.

And if my fiver goes towards a second row .......

It's good that the club can put out a reserve side.
This keeps options open for the coaches and allows them to assess fringe players for when they are required i.e injury cover or just a change in formation.
They have gave a price concession for season ticket holders which is very reasonable and i wouldn't quibble on paying £5 to watch players that maybe in the first team squad in the non to distant future.
I suppose the gate money goes towards running costs of the team, lighting, bar staff and various other overheads.
All in all a great chance to see some of the fringe players have a run out.
COME ON COV!!!!!!!!!

From the Moseley message board:

The provisional Squad for Monday's Moseley Development XV at Coventry includes (no particular order):

Ryan de la Harpe, Andy Borgan, Kevin Maggs, Callum MacBurnie, Jack Pons, Mike Gillick, George Warner (all Moseley), Charley Thomas, Jack Richards, Antonio Solomon (Moseley Oak), Steve Smith (Bournville), James Martin (Malvern), Phil Horton (Droitwich) along with Louis Padian and a number of current Moseley Colts.

All subject to fitness/availability etc after last night and this afternoon’s league matches.

Kick Off 7.30 pm Butts Park Arena.

I believe Kevin Maggs is skippering - so a fiver to see 70 Irish Cap Man stretch the creaking bones ;-)...& night matches at Cov v Mose usually have some excitement and/or controversy!

Not all Cov folk are that tight Kimbo, i think a lot of us are willing to pay a fiver to watch a game of rugby, as Kelly said, if our money goes a little way to improving Covs team or the growth of the club in general then so be it. It does seem to me that no matter what the club does, there's always someone on these forums who will find a negative point no matter how petty!

any details on the 'guests'? i know pete kolakowski plays for cambridge and would be a good signing but i couldn't find much when i googled the rest.

Interesting to see Ronnie McLean's name in there. As it doesn't say 'guest', can we assume he's back on board? The lad's a young but experienced back (at Champ level too) with a decent boot, so could be a clever signing if he meets his early promise.

As CovKiddo says, it would also be good to learn more about the 'Guests' too.

And... also interesting that there's a Cambridge lad in there. Is he a first-team squad man, or in the dev/youth side there too? I understand a few of their players have put themselves in the shop window since the advent of their financial problems.

Hi

A couple of misleading points on the squad - There aren't any Cambridge players there.
Pete Kolakowski playes for Peterborough Lions (not Peterborough RFC) - an ambitious Midlands 2 (Level 7) club as does Chris Humphrey who joined them from Rugby last year. Kolakowski has certainly done the rounds with clubs recently including the main Peterborough RFC club and Cambridge and Rugby Lions on loan.
