Cov's Brett Daynes looks forward to bright future at BP.

COVENTRY back rower Brett Daynes has given the clearest indication yet of the growing confidence at Butts Park.
The South African-born blindside has been an integral part of a team that has started off the new campaign with two wins from their first three games.
And former Bedford forward Daynes feels Cov have built on last season’s progress by addressing the most obvious weaknesses – in defence and at goal-kicker – and also learned to grind out victories.
Those developments have filled Daynes with genuine belief, ahead of this weekend’s trip to Sedgley Park, that after years of struggle, one of the game’s most famous clubs is back on the march.
And he expects the Blue and Whites to be involved at the top of the table this term.
“Perhaps the Championship is a couple of years away but we are not looking at finishing eighth this season, no-one would be unhappy with fifth or sixth but our sights are much higher,” Daynes claims.
“We are a much better side in so many ways, we want to be pushing for the Championship because everyone here knows we have the potential to be pushing for the top three and from there maybe even promotion – as long as we knuckle down.
