Maynard says Cov didn't stick to the plan against Jersey..

RUGBY director Phil Maynard attributed Coventry’s 29-3 defeat in Jersey to a failure to follow their game plan in the second half of a wind-affected game.
Cov were only 10-3 down at half-time after playing into the strong wind but Jersey came back out to dominate the second period with the visitors failing to take advantage of the elements.
“When we had possession we weren’t able to put the ball into the positions where we needed to be,” said Maynard.
“We did well in the first half in conditions that were very difficult and we knew what we needed to do but it just didn’t happen, which was disappointing.
“But Jersey are a well-balanced side and they did things better than us on the day – we have to accept that, learn the lessons and move on.”
The result dropped Cov to seventh place in the National League One table at the midway point in the season with games against bottom five sides Wharfedale, at home this Saturday, and Stourbridge before the holiday break.
“Both of them have had good wins in the last fortnight and will be gunning for us but these are games we need to win to build the momentum back up,” said Maynard.
