Coventry looking for revenge against Wharfedale.

COVENTRY open the second half of their National League One campaign on a revenge mission against Wharfedale at the Butts Park Arena tomorrow.

After an opening day win over Cinderford, Cov travelled to Yorkshire with expectations high only to slump to a 31-10 defeat in a performance which matched the grey and wet conditions.

Cov recovered well and, on the heels of the leading pack in seventh place in the table, are five positions above tomorrow’s visitors who have found their form again to win their last three games, including a fine victory at Cambridge.

“Our result up there still smarts,” said Cov’s rugby director Phil Maynard. “We started well and had the lead but after the opening quarter-of-an-hour we went off our game and were never in it.

“We made it easy for them and although we are a much better side now and believe in ourselves, we will have to make sure that our attitude is spot on.

Why use such emotive language ?

Why does it have to be revenge and why are we doing their coach's job in giving their players a gee up this way ?

Lets just go out and try and win a rugby match.

Hope we get back to winning ways today, looking forward to the game this afternoon.
Great to see Ben Russell playing his 150th senior game for the club, he has been a loyal player to the club over the years and stuck with the club when we were in financial trouble. (Sm128)

Absolutely Steve. At the start of the season a couple of regular posters made some disparaging remarks about Ben and I'm delighted he's proved them wrong. He and Luke M have been a real steadying factor in what is a very young and talented set of backs, together with Read at fly half. So well done Ben and here's to another decent crowd, a Cov win and some more good news about Lee Audis.

All thatsleft from trip to Jersy last week is a heavy cold, looking forward to a cracking game today, especially if the supporters get behind the team as we did against Ealing something or other. Come on Cov lets get back to winning ways with good entertaining rugby.
