A Christmas message to you!

It is once again the time of year to reflect upon the past twelve months, to remind ourselves on what has and what has not been achieved this year.
A year of consolidation and stability was the undeniable theme for Christmas 2010. It was also a time to remember the hardship and upheaval of the dreaded ‘Green’ era. An era of administration, and if Green had his way the end of Coventry Rugby Club!
After the Green saga significant decisions were taken by the new board to get the club back on an even keel, to steer the club from rough seas and into calmer waters. From the onset the board were honest. They patiently informed us that it would be a gradual and at times painful slow process, a process of taking it one step at a time to establish and build strong foundations so that the house of Coventry Rugby was able to withstand any tremors that were to head its way.
Today we can witness the building blocks of the new Coventry. From a rugby perspective we now have a first and second team along with a junior section. We have established close ties with Northampton Saints, which is beneficial to both parties and will certainly help us move forward whilst we wait for the Nighthawks and the junior teams to come to the fore. From a business perspective the club have forged strong links with fantastic sponsors; without their help the journey would become increasingly difficult if not impossible. The stadium is going from strength to strength. It’s amazing what a difference a coat of paint to the perimeter and the introduction of food outlets, a club shop and the viewing gallery has achieved. As a supporter I am very proud of the progress we have made so far and I would like to take this opportunity to say a massive ‘thank you’ to all involved. You know who you are!
This Christmas my glass is certainly half-full and I’m very much looking forward to the next stage of our journey together... Have a wonderful, peaceful Christmas and a fantastic 2012.

Well written. You have encapsulated the ethos of club. It is pleasing to see how little steps are giving light to big things happening. I hope for 2012 that fans patience will continue. So as our club can go to the next level.

Yes, I do give vent to my frustrations on occasions like last Saturday, but equally I am delighted, even ecstatic, when we play like we did against Ealing Trailfinders.
This season is a continuation of the growth and development of the team, the individual players and the club. In fact, the whole show.
Long may the progress continue, long may the club have the bonus of die hard supporters, of generous sponsors and of the City generally.
These are good times, better that in the immediate past, and there is little doubt that they will continue to get better. Here's to Cov RFC!
And a Happy Christmas to all.
