By Luke Myring, Coventry Telegraph. December 23 2011
IT’S been a tough few weeks for all at the club and things haven’t gone quite as we would have liked.
A few injuries over the last month or so and a third loss on the bounce at the weekend is not the way we would have wanted to go into the Christmas break but I think a break is exactly what we need at the minute to refresh, both mentally and physically and move forward into the new year.
There are two schools of thought on this and some coaches would have us in every day beasting us over the Christmas period but the coaches know us all well enough and are experienced enough to see that a break is just what the doctor has ordered.
Let’s just hope some of our boys go easy on the Christmas pudding and lay off the trifle... you know who you are, ha ha ha!
I also think it’s important not to be too negative and dwell on the last three weeks but to focus on how the club has progressed throughout 2011.
I wasn’t here last year but even in the relatively short time I have been with the club I have seen massive improvements throughout and I’m sure we will hit 2012 running.
However, before we run off into 2012 there is the small matter of the Northampton Saints visiting the BPA for a pre-Christmas extravaganza against a strong Cov side tomorrow night – 7.30pm kick off. It will be a great test for our boys to go out and mix it against top level players and I’m hugely excited to see how we stand up to the challenge.
Then on Friday night we have the Christmas party, which you can buy tickets for and it would be great to see you all there to celebrate the festive season together.
Finally, I would like to thank you all for your continued support and wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year and we will see you in 2012 when the challenge restarts.
