Try-machine Tom Harris back as Cov head to Blaydon

WINGER Tom Harris will make his first start of the season for Coventry as they attempt to arrest a four-match losing run in National League One at Blaydon tomorrow.
Last season’s leading try-scorer with 18, Harris missed the first half of the campaign with an ankle problem but came on for the closing 20 minutes of last week’s 24-14 defeat by Sedgley Park and is named in the starting line-up along with back row Jamie Miller, himself missing through injury since the end of September.
But Cov travel to the north-east without second row Benji Dechartres, who is ruled out after twisting his knee against Sedgley Park and replaced on the bench by Andy Weaver, and flanker Jethro Rawling, who is out for at least six weeks with ruptured ankle ligaments.
Heath Stevens moves back to centre to accommodate the return of Harris at the expense of Nat McDonald, while Spencer Sutherland keeps his place on the other wing after a try-scoring debut last week.
Mark O’Connor is preferred to Ben Russell at full-back, and Elliott Read gets the nod at fly-half in preference to Will Maisey who also made his debut last week.
“On balance Will did well last week, but Blaydon is a difficult place to go and Elliott has got a bit more experience for a game like this,” said rugby director Phil Maynard.
Cov were leading 14-0 at half-time last week and seemingly in control but they fell away after the break and conceded four unanswered tries to come out of the game with nothing.
