Coventry to assess key forwards ahead of Blackheath contest.

COVENTRY will tonight assess the damage wrought by last weekend’s tough derby victory over Bees before naming their side to face Blackheath.

Although they extended their unbeaten streak to four matches with a 26-25 win at Damson Park they were made to battle hard, particularly in the second half as Bees put them under huge pressure.

Assistant coach Pete Glackin was pleased with the resilience his men showed but admits some players are still feeling the after effects just a couple of days before their next big test.

“I did the stats from the weekend and out of the squad 13 lads had 100-per-cent tackle success,” Glackin revealed.

“That’s outstanding and a credit to them but it takes its toll and the downside is that we have picked up a couple of injuries. We’re still waiting on Adam Parkins and Will Hafu to see if they’ll come through to face Blackheath.”

Both have become important players, while Parkins has anchored the tighthead berth in all but two matches this season, new recruit Hafu has not tasted defeat in any of his four starts since joining from Rosslyn Park.
