Coventry Rugby continue on with their good working relationship with Northampton Saints Academy with the signing of two more Academy players, both on season long dual registered roles, flanker Darrell Dyer and lock forward Alex Woolford who both join last week’s signing of prop forward Danny Herriott.
Darrell Dyer, aged 19 is starting his 2nd season with Northampton Saints Academy. Playing at flanker Darrell prefers the No 6 jersey.
Born in Northampton, Darrell previously played for Northampton Old Scouts. A tall rangy player with excellent ball handling skills he prefers a fast offloading game. He is looking forward to playing in such a tough competitive environment and is aware of the challenges he faces to break into the first team. He was recently part of the Northampton Saints squad in the JP Morgan Premiership Sevens.
Alex Woolford, also aged 19, and born in Northampton, starts his 2nd season with the Northampton Saints Academy. Now back to fitness after a serious injury last season, Alex is hoping to make a break into the first team. Alex is a tall forward another one with good handling skills preferring the offloading game. Alex was also in the Northampton Saints Premiership Sevens squad.
