Rugby director Phil Maynard did not hide his disappointment at his team’s performance in defeat at Esher.
Coventry had the benefit of an ideal and positive start which saw them take an early lead with a well-created try but from there it was all round too much downhill as the side slipped to tenth in National League One.
“There is no hiding from it,” said Maynard, “we were very disappointed with the performance. We just did not turn up for large parts of the game after such a bright opening 20 minutes.
“In that time though we butchered at least three other chances and did not complete our sets from set-piece to a conclusion.

Perhaps we should install Henley College XV at the BPA and consign Cov to the outer reaches. Does the paucity of comment, reflect an increasing sense of exasperation for a team who seem unable to maintain consistency and to carry out the basics?
