PETE Glackin praised Coventry for their eloquent response to last weekend’s disappointment at Esher. The Butts Park outfit were wounded by the nature of their defeat at Molesey Road nine days ago but they bounced back in excellent fashion at home to Wharfedale on Saturday.
They turned a 27-10 defeat into a 27-11 victory which featured three tries and probably should have also brought a try bonus.
However, what was important for a side featuring seven changes was the attitude with which they went about their work and in that respect Glackin was delighted.
“It was a step in the right direction and a big step forward from last week,” the backs coach said.
“We had attitude and we had edge and that’s what we wanted from the boys so well done to them all.
“We wanted a bit more attitude, a bit more accuracy and to be more composed and they delivered. That’s what we asked for. We know we have got that in the camp here, it’s a mindset with these boys. We took one step off it last week but we performed this Saturday.
“On reflection we should have had the five, we were two or three opportunities short of completing that maximum.”
Glackin was also pleased with his team’s defence which was not breached until the 75th minute by which time the win, their fifth in six home games, was already in the bag.

Its probably due to some of our more 'aggresive' players being back in the team on the pitch
Once the team got into their stride it was a pleasure to watch.
Onwards & Upwards - i hope
