RUGBY director Phil Maynard admitted concerns over Coventry’s away form after their 20-3 National League One defeat at Old Albanian.
The result, which dropped them back to tenth place in the table, means that Cov have won just once on the road this season in contrast to an unbeaten run of six games at the Butts Park Arena after their opening-day defeat by leaders Ealing.
“It’s very disappointing,” said Maynard. “It’s only another piece of grass, and when you look at what we are doing and compare it to our home performances, it doesn’t make sense.
“The players are very down in the dressing room.
“The mindset and focus in the team against Wharfedale last week would have been a handful for anyone in the division, but although the guts and determination were in evidence today, it wasn’t enough.”
Added Maynard: “Cliffie Hodgson took a knock on the head early in the game and wasn’t his normal self which impacted quite a bit in what we were doing.
