A Christmas message to you!

By Unofficial Coventry Rugby
December 24 2012

It is once again the time of year to reflect upon the past twelve months, to remind ourselves on what has been achieved throughout 2012.

Jon Sharp, the club’s Chairman recently reported through media channels that the club’s revenue has increased by 50%, and as a consequence the club has moved from a loss-making position to one of modest profit.  Furthermore, all spare cash is being used to fund playing staff, improve facilities and purchase new equipment. Jon duly informed us that the improvement in finances has been achieved through generous club sponsors, benefactors and a sustainable business plan.

Whilst writing this Christmas message and diluting Jon’s report I have ashamedly realised that I have been very selfish, selfish in the fact that I have taken the aforementioned for granted, selfish in the knowledge that I have not praised the sterling efforts of all those involved behind the scenes.  I would like to take this opportunity to express a sincere thank you to the Chairman, the board and all members of staff for their dedication, commitment and pride in moving our club forward. Without you, our club would not be where we are today.

I would also like to pay my special thanks to those who have contributed to this website: To Tom Little, for keeping us up-to-date in what is going on at the club and indeed around the league.  To Mick Carter, for being a superb ambassador on his travels around the country and for raising valuable funds that will benefit us all.  To the Coventry Telegraph and its correspondents for allowing us the privilege of digesting superior rugby journalism from the likes of John Wilkinson and Brian Dick.  And finally, but not least I would like to thank you the readers and contributors of the message board, without your input this site would fade into obscurity.

Have a wonderful, peaceful, blessed Christmas, and here’s to a prosperous New Year on and off the pitch.

Many thanks to those involved in the Management of the BPA. A very creditable effort in improving Club finances. Fingers crossed for further gains

I hope all the staff, players and supporters of Coventry RFC have a wonderful Christmas and New Year. I'll raise a glass (or two ) to you all tonight, and all through the festive period.
