Hodgson breaks Cov record.

Prolific full-back Cliffie Hodgson made sure of his place in Coventry’s record books as a personal 31-point haul helped his side to a 61-7 win over Sedgley Park in their final home game of the National League One season.
The South African contributed a hat-trick of tries and eight conversions, taking his total for the season to a new club league record of 309 points and surpassing Steve Gough’s 305 in the 1998-99 campaign.
“It’s a massive privilege to play for this club and to break records is a humbling experience,” said Hodgson, who was later named the supporters’ player of the season.
“A couple of weeks ago I would probably have said I didn’t know if it was on, we were struggling a bit, but as a team the way we have performed in the last two games has been great to see.
“There have been doubts about us, but we’ve kept our heads down, worked hard and listened to the coaches, and look what has happened.
“I’ve got my goals set for next season and we all want to go forward from this.”
Cov scored nine tries as they added to their 35-24 win over third-placed Esher three days earlier.
