Coventry Rugby confirm pre-season games

Coventry Rugby are pleased to confirm the following pre-season fixtures pending the start of their National League 1 season on the 7th September 2013.
A full series of games throughout August will provide a suitable test for the new recruits in the Coventry squad, which should give them plenty of game time to get acclimatised.
Fixtures
3rd August Saturday Broad Street away kick off 3 pm
10th August Saturday Chinnor home at BPA kick off 3 pm entry £5 all pay U16’s free
16th August Friday Blackwood away kick off 7.30pm
17th August Saturday Cross Keys away kick off 3 pm
23rd August Friday jointly with Worcester Warriors Cavaliers
Plymouth Albion away kick off 7.30 pm
24th August Saturday fixture to be arranged-details to be advised
31st August Saturday Jersey RFC away kick off 3 pm

Ah right, twasn't very clear, Considering a trip to Jersey, not quite sure yet or shall i save my money for the first game of the season? Hull or Jersey hmmmmmm

yep. a solitary BPA match against the mighty Chinnor (no offence, Chinnor supporters) is pretty rubbish.

Give the pitch a chance!
It's pretty poor at the best of times (no fault of Eric of course) and the Bears have a couple of homers during that period, so I'm guessing that the decision was taken to avoid too much action on it given the usual standard of the English 'Summer' over the past few years.

Jersey here I come. After the trip season before last I promised I would go back and I have booked already. Wonderful place, beer and people. With a bit of sunshine thrown in it could almost be like going to heaven. (Not that I am likely to find out what that is really like)

Correct. It may not be for rugby reasons that he quit Melrose and moved down south, but it'll interesting to see how Chinnor go with him as I think they're ambitious.

Despite the suggestions about the pitch, one home match is very disappointing. No chnce to build up a relationship twixt team and supporters.

Agree totally Roger. While bonding between the players is vital - at our level bonding between supporters and players is equally important. We will back them to the hilt once they have convinced us of their commitment to Coventry.

just to confirm that the pre-season conditioning session jointly with Broadstreet on the 3rd August has been cancelled.
The club are still looking for opponents for the Saturday 24th August date.
I will update further when details known.

How about a friendly with Doncaster as a benefit match with money being raised for Lee Audis? Add a few collection buckets and we can raise a good sum towards his re-hab.
