Stalwarts stay with Coventry Rugby.

Coventry Rugby are pleased to announce the retention of two of their most consistent players over the past three seasons, namely hooker Matt Price, and flanker Brett Daynes ,making 10 players already retained for the coming season, with yet more in the pipeline.
Matt Price, aged 30 not only came back from a serious injury before the start of last season but then went on the appear in all 29 matches starting in no less than 25. Currently head of Community Rugby at Coventry Rugby, Matt oversees rugby and all sports going into Coventry schools, as well as running the successful BPA rugby camps.
Matt is in sight of his 100th appearance for Coventry Rugby and welcomes the additional competition provided by the recruitment of the young Bedford Blues hooker Chris Locke, who replaces Davy McGregor who has been released. Matt feels that the added competition throughout the side this season should prove beneficial for all concerned at Coventry Rugby.
Brett Daynes, flanker has also renewed his allegiance with Coventry Rugby. A rangy deceptively fast and powerful player started most games at No 6 but also played at No 8, Brett last season made 25 appearances including 23 starts, and scoring 7 tries. Brett has decided to stop with Coventry Rugby despite interest from other clubs, once again the promise of more competition is proving beneficial to the squad for the coming season.
Coventry Rugby’s new Head Coach Scott Morgan is delighted that two of last season’s experienced player have agreed new terms to stay with Coventry Rugby. Our goal this season was to retain the members of the squad we were really happy with and to add to those with new quality to further enhance the squad. Matt and Brett were most certainly players we wanted to keep and I look forward to working with them this season.”
