Coventry Rugby are pleased to confirm that key experienced centres Luke Myring and Greg Evans will continue playing for Coventry Rugby in the coming season as the final year of their two year contracts. These two signings make it 16 players so far retained from last season, together with 9 new signings already confirmed. Further announcements are shortly expected with additional new signings and more retained players to be confirmed.
Luke Myring, has had a traumatic last two seasons at Coventry Rugby due to injuries, with him restricted to only 5 games last season. Now back to fitness but needing match practice Luke is very much looking forward to helping Coventry Rugby in their push up the league, with him providing the necessary experience both off and on the field to assist Coventry Rugby in their ambitions.
Greg Evans, joined Coventry Rugby last season after being at Birmingham Solihull and London Welsh. An ever present last season for Coventry Rugby, he made 29 appearances. Pressed into playing mainly on the wing, instead of his more usual position in the centre, he scored 7 tries bringing an experienced head to the youthful side of last season.
Luke and Gregg join up with the other retained centres from last season James Otutaha and Callum MacBurnie, as well as new signings Barry Davies and Will Hurrell who are both able to play in the centre thus bringing an added frisson of anticipation to the competition in the centre positions.
