Matt Jones is set to make his full debut this weekend as Coventry look to bounce back from last weekend’s disappointment at Blaydon.
The former Wales international arrived in the summer but missed the start of the National One campaign after picking up a leg injury during pre-season.
However, the 29-year-old came off the bench in the second half at Crow Trees and is expected to start the game when Cov take on Old Albanian, whom they have never beaten, at Butts Park on Saturday.
Jones will bring with him the pedigree of more than a decade in full-time rugby and as well being a front line goal-kicker.
He is also a proven expert tactician in matches.
“We are still trying to get the best out of our group and I don’t think we have done that yet,” said head coach Scott Morgan.
“Will Maisey has done well, there is no suggestion he’s done anything wrong.
“If he had he would be the first to know.
“But when you have someone of Matt’s quality and experience you have to give them the opportunity to say ‘This is what I can do’.
“I think at times we have lacked a little bit of field position and the correct type of kick at the correct time.”
