Scott Morgan hails 'electrifying' display from Dan Rundle...

Coventry coach Scott Morgan praised the progress being made by Dan Rundle after the winger’s three-try, match-winning performance against Cinderford.

“Dan was the big positive of the day for me – he’s electrifying isn’t he?” said Morgan.

“He’s a very exciting talent, we know what he’s capable of, we saw that when he played against us last season, and he’s getting better and better as he develops his rugby ability.

“I’m really pleased for him. He’s been in the shadows a little bit through the season with Will (Hurrell) and Dom (Lespierre) on the wings, but he stood up today.”

Cov’s 16 straight win took them past the previous post-war club best of 15 in a row from the 1962-63 season, but Morgan conceded that they were not at their best and was concerned by the number of scrum penalties his side conceded.

“The boys are rolling their sleeves up week in, week out, and it’s another bonus point win at home so I can’t be negative,” he said. “But today we made more individual basic errors than in previous weeks and that was disappointing for me.

Sometimes you read a coach's comments about a game and wonder if they have been watching the same game as you. I have to say that whenever I hear or read Scott's after match comments they are spot on. Perhaps as an old second row myself I see the game the same way but I expect I am flattering myself there. He is a pretty impressive guy really. Thanks Scotty, you are making us weary Cov supporters who have struggled for false hope in the past very very happy.
