Coventry bounced back to winning ways in National League One with a comprehensive ten-try victory over relegation-threatened Tynedale.
The visitors were on the back foot from the start and Cov, who were well on top in the set scrum, had their four-try bonus point wrapped up shortly after the half hour and were 57 points to the good before taking their foot off the pedal.
Cov were three tries up after just 14 minutes as Tynedale struggled for any foothold in the game.
Cliffie Hodgson claimed the first inside three minutes after a storming run through the middle by Will Hurrell, Scott Morgan made it two from a close-in line-out, and Rob Knox ran in from 30 metres when Tynedale lost possession attempting to play their way out of defence, Hodgson converting the latter two scores.
Hodgson went over on the left for his second try with Tynedale down to 14 men after a yellow card for Matthew Outson, injuring himself in the process and replaced by Scott Hamilton, and Alex Woodburn capped an effective first half with Cov's fifth try in stoppage time for a 29-0 lead.
Further tries followed for Matt Jones and Tom Poole within five minutes of the restart, both converted by Jones, and after a flurry of changes disrupted their flow, they struck twice more going into the final quarter through Sam Pailor and Wayne Evans, Jones again converting both.

I think the new SA centre looked useful again, with some very strong tackles, which was a contrast to our new 'all black' full black, who looked very nervous and missed a simple tackle, leading to a try. but hey not going be too tough on him, being his first game in a year! just hope hes not next years defensive coach! ;-)

Describing a former international player as "our new 'all black' full black" seems a distastefully disrespectful way of referring to him. Putting all black in quotation marks like that in particular implies that he was not an All Black. The records show quite clearly that he was capped for New Zealand.

And I'm just saying it as I see it, IMO he didn't play well, and didn't play in the manner I would hope of someone who has been selected to play for the all blacks. There is no doubt he was, and maybe is still a good player, but I didn't see it on that performance, and that's what I was commenting on. But you also seem to miss the fact that I acknowledged that he hasn't played for a year too, and made a joke of it!!
And if Nick and others are getting your knickers in a twist about putting speech marks around 'all blacks' being distastefully disrespectful, then perhaps there is a need to re-enter into the real world, where real disrespect happens every day, and not in the form of some nasty, horrible, hurtful "speech marks"- really?!
Just because he has played for the all blacks, it doessnt mean he has to be hero worshiped by you, or is beyond criticism.
Bono- are you really saying a missed tackle is irrelevant? What if that had of meant we'd have lost the game due to conceding the try?!
Ok, Let me put it another way. "The missed tackle by our new full back, which led to a try was not very good." Better?
So please stop focusing on one possibly negative sentence in my post, read the post as a whole, including my praise for the new centre and the team.
No matter who misses a tackle so close to the touch line they would not of been proud of this, wether they wear black blue or white.
Would love to see his connection with the club made permanent.
Show me a player who never misses a tackle.
