Coventry 35 - 27 Esher

Well, I enjoyed it!

Sounds like I'm in the minority, but I rather enjoyed this game.

There was no shortage of handling errors, and probably more tackles were slipped in defence than could be considered ideal, but at least both teams were trying to chuck the ball around and it was good sport seeing Cov wrest back the advantage in the second half.

Despite fighting back from twelve points down, John Wilkinson reports on the official site that Mr Winter wasn't impressed.  So I expect training may be a little more 'rigorous' than usual for the next couple of sessions leading to the back-to-back away fixtures at Fylde and Plymouth.  Those matches will be interesting tests for a Cov team that it seems really doesn't like losing!

Anyway, more detail on how the Esher game panned out is also in John Wilkinson and Paul Smith's report in the Coventry Evening Telgraph.
