Fair point, but the only sources I can find seem to suggest that the vote was relatively recent (2015) and was a majority of clubs (supported by the PFA, fwiw). I can't see it getting overturned just to suit Sutton, for example.

And surely not even SISU would be daft enough to go for a ground-share that might leave CCFC permanently installed in non-league football, though it would mean that 12,000 would be more than enough!

I realise that Russ, but I'd be surprised if there's not further pressure to relax that rule before too long. Lower league clubs in particular need the extra income that artificial pitches can generate.
I know the FL is still running scared from the QPR experiment with Omniturf, but the quality standards have improved somewhat since 1981.

As for Sisu not being daft enough. What evidence do you base that on? Come on!

I feel a lot of the speculation is just paper talk anyway. For me, the comforting part of the message from Jon Sharp is where he points out no way will Coventry RFC deal with SISU.
I would like to take this opportunity to than Jon Sharp for responding so swiftly and nipping this rumour in the bud, and also for keeping up the now excellent communication from the club to us supporters

A stupid idea, Sharp should not comment on. Obviously he States " will not deal with SISU " carefully side stepping saying " will not deal with CCFC". If the BPA is increased in size to 12000 + it would be too big for Cov and too small for the sky blues.

A lose-lose scenario.

Covkid53, are you just posting here to wind people up? Firstly, there isn't a chance there would be enough parking facilities for 12,000+ supporters. Secondly, I doubt the land Coventry RFC's ground is on is big enough to hold a stadium of 12,000+. I will not name anyone in particular, but I think we all know who I am referring to when I say the people running Coventry City Football Club can not be trusted, and Jon Sharp is no fool. I grew up watching City, and I have many fond memories of the club. I would love to see the current owners bought out, and see them on a better financial footing, but the life is being strangled out of the club, which is very sad indeed

Winding who up ? Sharp wound me up reference SISU. Cov City at the BPA is a non starter due to location and infrastructure. Sharp needs to say no to CCFC too, that is my point. You should calm down a bit.

Taking a look at the primary planning consents when the club moved into the Butts in 2004, it states clearly that all the regulatory consents had been granted for 10,000 (which was the premiership ground criteria at that time,but is now 15,000) this included, envioronmental impact report, green travel plan and resident parking permit scheme, also, this was before the underground car park next door was built for 450 vehicles. CCFC/and Mr \Sharpe and council officers must all know this as well, so,




It is easily enough capacity for the sky blues to move in straight away at current crowds . Unfortunately it is not enough for Premiership rugby.

Why does Tim Fisher keep stating this deal is ON ? Mr Sharp needs to come out and say NO, it isn't, with no ambiguity.

Put yourself in Jon Sharpes shoes, The Sky Blues would be fabulous tenants to have at the butts, paying circa 200k pa rent and a share of the booze. think of the brewery barrelage kick backs etc . makes it a manner from heaven to ccrfc. problem that sharp has got is to some how pacify fans like you who clearly cannot recognise that the financial commitments of professional rugby in league 1 and the championship are totally unsustainable without outside revenues ,a ground share with sky blues is a once in a life time opportunity that should not be missed because of a few luddite rugby fans from yesteryear are misguidedly isolations in this matter. get real , wake up to the reality.People like the previous poster merely highlight the problem, nothing constructive, just dismissive mumbo jumbo. Tim, I regret to tell you mate that you have fallen into the trap of taking on covkid53 and telly1 and trying to make sense and logic out of their confrontational postings, and then trying to get them to see your point of view and your logic.
My heart sinks when I see that either of them have posted, and I have learned that it is simply not worth trying to answer them and to take them on.
My advice? Keep your powder dry for a much more worthy cause. You're capable of much more than you're ever likely to get from either of those two.

Can you show us a source for this info? AFAIK, the Prem requirement is still 10000. Heineken Quarter Finals DO require a capacity of 15000, admittedly, but this does not preclude participation in the Premiership. Newcastle, at 10200, and Sarries, at 10000 capacity (and other clubs with fewer than 15000 places such as Sale, Bath, Quins and Exeter) seem to be at odds with this line. I'd be interested to learn when this changed.
