Good For An Hour
Have our old issues with managing the final quarter returned or was it all down to Bath suddenly finding some superb form? Hopefully the latter as our hosts turned on the gas to win 31-20 after we led for most of the game.
Boris permitting Argentine international Matias Alemanno will make his first start for Gloucs as we nip across to Bath for a Tuesday night encounter with a 5.30 kick off.
Monday Night Mayhem
The 1,000 supporters allowed into Kingsholm weren't as lucky as they thought - at least those of us watching at home could go in the kicthen and make a cup of tea or go for a stroll round the block.
Cracker In Prospect
One thousand lucky supporters will be in Kingsholm tonight (Monday) to witness what should be a game full of attacking flair. Our hopes of getting into the top 4 look bleak but a win against Quins would put us into the frame for a top 8 finish and Euro qualification . Kick off 7.45.
Strange times and nothing stranger than seeing corner flags at Sandy Park being disinfected by a man in a mask. On the pitch a completely different starting XV saw Gloucester compete well against the Chiefs and deserved at least one bonus point in the 35-22 defeat.
Onward and Upward
The games are coming thick and fast. There's hardly any time to reflect on an excellent 36-23 win over Irish as we now have the dauntinhg task of travelling to the Chiefs for a 5.30 kick off on Wednesday.
George Skivington would hate to lose against his old side at Kingsholm on Saturday (kick off 4.30 on BT)- London Irish didn't want to lose their forwards coach to the Cherry and Whites and will be wanting to prove a point. It's set up very nicely.
Thorley Tames Tigers
Four tries in the first half from Ollie Thorley helped Gloucs to an entertaining Bank Holiday win over Leicester. As the scoreline suggests the backs had a field day and their first half points haul is a club record.
Not quite sure how to describe the current phoney war which is the dregs of the 2019-20 Premiership. The games are being played, one assumes, to ensure the TV revenue isn't clawed back. I'd like to claw some back as it took until 6.25 to get the red button on Bt Sport Extra to bring up a choice of three live games.
Who'd Have Thought
League rugby on a Tuesday night? Three games in seven days - quite remarkable. Gloucs travel to Sarries and given all of those games it's not surprising that some new faces wll be on show.
