Cherry and Whites Mk.II
If Connacht have been planning for their home leg of the Pool games with Gloucs on the basis of last week's 26-17 defeat at Kingsholm they will have to think again.
Hopes Still Alive
Our European campaign is finally up and running after a thrilling bonus point win against a very competitive Connacht .. now we need to do the same at their place next week. The 26-17 win moved us up to second with Toulouse beating Montepellier but we can't afford any more slip-ups.
Win Win Needed
Back to back win against Connacht are needed if we are to keep our European Champions Cup hopes alive.
Simpson Extends Contract
Some good news today - Joe Simpson has extended his one year contract although nobody is saying by how much. This comes the day after his side should have come away with a win at Quins and nobody is quite sure why they didn't .
Tough Task Ahead
It very much looks like we will have to win our remaining four games in the Champions Cup if we are to stay in this tremendous competition. The 30-27 defeat at Montepellier saw us come up just short in a game of competing styles and in this case power overcame ambition.
Wholesale Changes for Montpellier
Only four of last week's starting line-up from the defeat by Toulouse keep their places in the side which travels to France for a Sunday kick off. Notably absent is Danny Cirpriani who is not named in the starting line-up, on the bench or among those unavailable for selection.
Montpellier A Must Win
Toulouse did a second half number on Glaws in our first Champions Cup game and hopefully we will be able to take that lesson to Montpellier this Sunday.
Fantastic game in prospect tonight as we kick off the Heineken Champions Cup with the visit of the mighty Toulouse for a 7.45 kick off - it's on BT if you can't get there.
Beware The Wounded Animal
This was definitely the wrong time to play a defiant Sarries. Desperate to start reeling in their huge 35 points penalty they came up against a Gloucester side which has been blowing hot and cold and this week we were decidely chilly.
All Eyes On Kingsholm
Under pressure Sarries will arrive at Kingsholm desperate to keep their flag flying as they, and the professional game, absorb the enormity of the sanctions against them for breaching the pay cap rules over the last few seasons.
