Glaws heading for another trip to Twickers?

The last two weeks of the Guinness Premiership are going to provide a grandstand finish to a long, hard season. Shedloads has taken a look at the remaining fixtures involving the six teams fighting for the four play-off places and has decided it’s head on the block time by making some predictions on the outcome.

After finishing top of the table last season before losing out in the play-off final at Twickenham, Gloucester have a chance to repeat that table-topping feat, but this time they’ll hope for a better result – and a better performance – at Twickers.
Finishing in the top two is important as the winners are at home to the fourth team in the play-offs, while the runners-up are at home to the third-placed team. The current table (demonstrating how important bonus points are, especially for Glaws) reads:

Next weekend, the big games, with our predictions, are

Bath v Saracens – Bath win

Quins v Sale – Quins win

Wasps v Glaws – Glaws win (we are biased)

Falcons v Tigers – Tigers win

The following midweek, Wasps play their game in hand away to Newcastle Falcons (which Wasps will win), then on the last day of the season the games are:

Glaws v Bath – Glaws win

Leeds v Wasps – Wasps win

Tigers v Quins – Tigers win

Sale v L Irish – Sale win

It's going to be close, but our predictions suggest it looks as if Glaws v Bath on the last day could decide it and while supporters of both clubs have had their day in the past, what a tremendous advert for the strength of the game in this part of the country that fixture is going to be. Pity they can’t shift Twickenham to Kingsholm for the day to get everybody who wants to watch the game into the ground, but what a play-off final it would be between the pair.
Glaws have had their sticky moments and the teams below them won’t just roll over, but they have it in their hands to finish top (tghey could even lose at Wasps and finish top by beating Bath). Then, with no outstanding team like last season’s Tigers to beat, the rest is up to them.

BY THE way, the table above shows that Glaws have earned more bonus points than any other team this season with 14, their closst rivals Quins with 12 while second top Bath only have seven.
