Glaws hit back with historic win at Rec

Willie walker scored 16 of Gloucester's 21 points as they got their season on track with their first ever Premiership win at Bath. Brought into the team in place of the dropped Ryan Lamb, Walker scored a try, a conversion, two penalties and a drop goal to inspire a badly-needed victory after the opening-day defeat at the hands of Leicester.

In fact, at 21-5 head with just over ten minutes to play, Glaws were comfortable, but  Bath were allowed to stage a late two-try revival that narrowed the gap to 21-17 in the end.Bath fly-half Butch James missed all five of his kicks after scoring 18 against Bristol a week earlier. Fortunately for Glaws, the Springbok chose this game to perform well below his usual standard.Dean Ryan told the BBC: "Sometimes it's just about the result. I have been here a lot of times when we have played better than them and come away with nothing, so this is a nice result. "We played well for 70 minutes and then we just lose our heads. Not everything went right for us today but we are trying to do the right thing. "Last week was the first game of the season, but we clearly hadn't learned lessons - so I wasn't going to hang around for five or six games. "Previously, I would probably have said to learn from things. But you get to a point where you have to draw a line in the sand." Ryan clearly expects more from his team than he got against Leicester, and the players responded well at the Rec, Walker, Olivier Azam, Andy Hazell (right) and one or two others leading the charge.
Now they need to show the Kingsholm faithful that the Tigers game was a one-off by getting a home win against Harlequins next weekend.
