What A Nightmare

A season which promised so much has suddenly become a bit of a disaster. Taking on Sarries with a full XV man complement would have been a hard task but having to battle it out for 78 minutes with only 14 proved to be mission impossible ..

There can be no argument with Wayne Barnes's decision to red card Nick Wood in the second minute. His boot clearly came into contact with the head of Burger  not once but twice and he now faces a lengthy ban of possibly nine weeks.

It was an out of character act and he immediately apologised to Burger and, by all accounts,  his teammates and everyone else after they trudged off on the back of a 44-12 hammering.

 David Strettle got two tries and Schalk Brits, Billy Vunipola and Joel Tomkins one each. All we had to offer was four pens from Burns.

Back to the drawing board where we need to get the pack working as a unit. We have been outplayed in this department against both Sale and Sarries and we have backs who deserve a better platform.
