Purdy Try

The Challenge Cup is once again proving to be a strange competition with coaches picking strong sides to please their supporters at home and experimenting when they go away. Either that or Agen are in for a poor season after we hammered them 61-16 ..

Of course, we failed to win at Pau last week so the size of the victory was a little surprising - even though we'd made nine changes.
We ran in three tries in the opening quarter thanks to Ben Vellacott, Billy Burns and Ben Morgan, and then got the bonus point through Tom Savage.
That opened the floodgates with a total of nine tries through Henry Purdy, a second from Vellacott, followed by Richard Hibbard and Jake Polledri.
Williams also crossed for his first try for the club and converted a couple for good measure.
Gloucs: Woodward; Purdy, Trinder, Williams, Halaifonua; Burns, Vellacott; Hohneck, Hanson, Denman, Savage (capt), Beckett, Polledri, Ludlow, Morgan.
Reps Hibbard, Orr, Afoa, Clarke, Rowan, Heinz, Twelvetrees, Braley.
