The old Kenilworth railway...

For years a sign from the old Kenilworth railway station hung in Kenilworth Rugby Club.

No one quite knows how it got there; it was part of the furniture and character of the clubhouse. When President Willie Whitesmith spotted an article in the Kenilworth Weekly News about the designers of the new station in Kenilworth getting excited about uncovering some stained glass windows from the original building it got him thinking that they may be interested in the sign.

He was right and he suggested to the management committee at the rugby club that it would be a good thing to re-unite the sign with the new station and with their blessing he contacted Hannah Collett of the Kenilworth Station Scheme. The result is that the old station sign will take up a prominent spot in the new station. The rugby club will miss it but it is now back where it belongs!
