Kenilworth Rugby can confirm that pre-season training for all senior players will start on Thurs 18 June @ 7pm. This will be the first session under new 1st XV coach Wayne Morgan and signals the start of an exciting new era for the club. All players (including new recruits) are encouraged to attend as Wayne looks to build a squad to tackle what will be a challenging league (Mids 1 west) in 2015/16.
Wayne joined Kenilworth as a player in 1993, at the start of the Steve Brain era, and stayed for ten years as the club progressed from level 9 through to level 5 where they remained for a number of seasons. On his retirement as a player in 2003, Wayne re-joined his first Club, Rugby St Andrews, to become Coach. It is from the Saints that he re-news his fond relationship with Kenilworth RFC.
Kenilworth will open their Mids 1 west campaign with a home game against Leek on 5th Sept, before two away games at Stoke and Stratford and the second home game against Walsall on the 3rd Oct. The full list of teams in Mids 1 west are Bournville, Bridgnorth, Burton, Crewe & Nantwich, Dudley Kingswinford, Hereford, Kenilworth, Leek, Silhillians, Stoke, Stratford, Walsall, Whitchurch, Worcester Wanderers.
On 19th June at 6pm the club are also hosting, as part of the RWC2015 initiative, a Touch Rugby event on Friday 19th June and full details of this are at www.kenilworthrugby.co.uk This event is being organised to attract new (and indeed former) players (back) to the game and will be a superb introduction to rugby.
The AGM of Kenilworth Rugby will be on Wednesday 24th June at 8pm.
